locationsAalenFull timeposted onPosted 30+ Days Agojob requisition idJR_1010279Be part of the Disruptive Technologies team to develop smart optical devices / wearables for consumer market and integrate advanced electro-optical systemsDrive projects at different stages of development cycle simultaneously, either as a team player and/or as a project lead guiding colleagues / studentsDefine, design, and integrate electronic lens and its required interfaces (frame, mechanical and software components)Develop prototypes and define manufacturing processPlan and set up laboratory to perform system characterization and test hardwareScout relevant technologies and coordinate the execution of R&D studiesMaintain up-to-date technology database, participate in ideation process, generate IP and report resultsYou have:Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Computer or related fields), preferably Master or PhD7+ years of product design/prototyping experience, including full system ownership, preferably in the field of electronic devices/ wearablesGood knowledge in system engineering and system architecture with multi-disciplinary experience (e.g. optical devices, electronics, software and mechanical design)Experience with integrating component modules (I/O, Displays, Batteries, PCBs, etc.), embedded platforms, smartphone connectivity and IoT platformsTechnical know-how of next-generation smart devices, software interfaces and manufacturing processStrong analytical skills and project management experienceUnderstanding of product conformance requirements desirableVery good communication skills in English and, preferably, proficient in GermanAbility to travel internationally (less than 10%)Your ZEISS Recruiting Team:
