Our medical robotics team at ZEISS is looking for a highly motivated intern to contribute to research and development in robotics for next-generation medical applications. Your Role
- Develop and test concepts for medical robotics, robot-assisted surgery
- Work on robotics, sensor signal processing and fusion, creation of models from sensor inputs, machine learning
- Evaluate concepts both in simulation and on real setups, get hands-on experience with robotics in the medical field
- Conduct experiments in our robotics laboratory
- Present and discuss research findings in team and department meetings
- Work closely with experts in robotics, sensor signal processing, modeling, and medical technology, as part of an international project
- Work with researchers and engineers in a collaborative environment at the ZEISS Innovation Hub Karlsruhe, right on site of the KIT-campus north
Your profile
- You are enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in computer science, electrical engineering, or mechatronics (preferably) - Alternatively, in biomedical engineering, physics, or comparable
- You have basic knowledge in robotics, modeling, and sensor processing
- You have programming knowledge in at least one of the following: Python, ROS, C++
- Knowledge in optical sensing systems, optical coherence tomography, is a plus
- Fluent English language skills
- A hands-on mentality, an open mind, excellent problem-solving, communication and innovation skills
- Passion for innovation and enthusiasm for innovative technologies as well as motivation to work in agile, interdisciplinary teams
