It takes less than 10 minutes. What we do: Step out of your comfort zone, excel, and redefine the limits of what is possible. That’s what our employees are doing every single day – to set the pace through our innovations and enable outstanding achievements. Join us and shape the software future of ophthalmology and microsurgery. It is our mission to contribute to the progress of medicine, enabling more efficient and cost-effective treatments and providing access to high-quality medical care to as many people as possible. Together we create the ZEISS Medical Ecosystem. It makes digital adoption easy, providing one ecosystem connecting devices, data and applications that enable a streamlined workflow, clinical planning, education, and optimization of clinical procedures. ZEISS Medical Ecosystem opens possibilities for the creation of new solutions, where data passes seamlessly from one ZEISS device to another medical device software as well as supportive services and software tools & accessories. Your role within our Health Data Platform program: The ZEISS Medical Ecosystem is enabled and empowered by a strong digital backbone – our Health Data Platform. It contains services and products that either are medical devices themselves or support medical devices as data source, processor or by other means. In your role as project manager, you play a key role in this program as you take over responsibility of products that are enabling the forwarding of imaging or video files from on-premise devices to our cloud-based data platforms. Project managers oversee the entire research & development part within our software development process. As we are manufacturer of medical devices, this not only contains coding but also requires documentation and quality management across the entire team of experts (e.g., portfolio management, quality management, clinical affairs, regulatory affairs, localization, testing, product management). As project managers you are the team’s captain and drive all those activities that are required to plan, develop, and launch the next versions of highly challenging and fascinating digital (medical) devices for patient care. This will be your core areas of responsibility: We are looking for a person that is comfortable with navigating and communicating through technical domains, understands the needs of a program that follows agile software development principles as well as regulatory requirements that we need to fulfill to meet the demands of our quality management system (ISO 13485). This means you can empathize and interact with colleagues from a very broad set of disciplines like software developers, product & project managers, quality assurance/management experts or regulatory & clinical affairs managers and translate their needs into one joint solution. We know this is demanding – but we can also ensure you that within that role, you will get unique insights into the development of digital solutions for patient care that helps our customers to increase their patient’s quality of life. At the same time, this position is very well positioned within different areas of our development activities and thus enables you to build a strong network and relationship within many areas. Though the activities of this kind of role are typically manifold and sometimes difficult to be put on one page, we try to give you a better idea with the following bullet points. Breaking down a product roadmap or feature requests into a product increment and related engineering and documentation deliverables together with core stakeholders (e.g., product management, regulatory, service, engineering, operations) Manage projects according to our internal quality management system (ISO 13485) and quality gates/milestone processes (i.e., planning, creation, and review of product delivery and documentation together with the team) Coordinating project plans, product requirements (features) and other deliverables with various stakeholders (e.g., quality management, UX/UI, localization, regulatory teams, cybersecurity, product management) Orchestrating and overseeing documentation and execution of kick off/milestones/gates and overall project oversight and responsibility for process compliance Overall R&D responsibility (i.e., planning, re-prioritization in alignment with Product Management) and alignment with other roles for delivery (e.g., release manager, Release Train Engineer, Product Owner) Apply if you can check a decent amount of the following topics: Working on those various topics is typically something for people who love communication, coordination, and pushing things forward. This is not something you can learn at any university, but we think the following aspects can help us to narrow down who we are looking for – if you have doubts, feel free to ask us. The worst that can happen is a friendly “Sorry – not this time”: Formal Qualification and education: University degree in medical physics, computer science, engineering, business informatics, business information systems engineering, or a relevant adjacent subject; alternatively, a business degree and strong technology and healthcare experience Work Experience and “hard skills”: 4 – 6 years of work experience in software development of complex products, ideally in the health care industry (i.e., FDA 510(k), MDD and MDR, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62366) or any other regulated industry (e.g., automotive, banking) Knowledge of relevant agile product owner methodologies; Furthermore, you are skilled in balancing risk with time-to-market objectives. Experience and knowledge how to easily navigate through corporate, regulatory, as well as technical environments and topics Fluent in business English; German is a plus but not strictly necessary Excellent writing style to present and communicate complex issues in an understandable manner Good experience with technologies, solutions, and methodologies for the transition, storage, management, and processing of medical data (e.g., DICOM processing, EMR systems, PACS) in an on-premise or cloud-based environment Interpersonal and communication skills: Strong and proven problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment in a domain of peers from different domains Excellent communication skills to efficiently prioritize goals and align various stakeholders in an interdisciplinary and multicultural team to a common goal Ability to guide and work with cross-functional teams towards shared goals in a collaborative and empathic manner. Ability to apply lateral leadership within the project to lead and motivate an interdisciplinary team without being their line manager. Strong and proven mindset to deliver and finish things in both a pragmatic and professional way. Join us today. Inspire people tomorrow. Your ZEISS Recruiting Team: Dogan Küncekli
